Redesign of INFORMS Website

This website redesign took the better part of a year to complete. INFORMS partnered with Beaconfire RED to design, build, and launch this 40k+page site across multiple platforms. Until I worked on some poorly managed large scale projects, I truly didn’t understand the value of having and being a good project manager. Russ Chettiar was the PM on the bfRED side, and at any given moment he knew where we were in the timeline, to the minute and the penny. At the time it felt restrictive, but the site was launched on time (okay, 12 minutes late) and under budget. I probably gave him heartburn when I told him there was no Plan B for an alternative launch date, as the site was to go live on a Sunday, and I was headed to Vegas that Friday for our Analytics Conference. One of my favorite aspects of the project was working with our tech lead, David Sayre. We probably spend 100’s of hours on Slack, and watching him code was such a unique insight into another person’s brain and how they think.

We won two awards in 2017 for the redesign, Association Trends’ All Media Trends Website Award and the Web Marketing Association’s WebAward.
