A Plea to the Hotel Industry

Not me, probably because she’s sleeping too well.

I know revenue management and pricing are high on your list of metrics. Customer service is up there too. I have an idea to increase your scores in a very specific demographic, 40-60 year old females.

You can name it the “Fabulous Package.” Do NOT suggest someone take advantage of it, or you will tank your engagement scores, and perhaps be stabbed. We’ll handle the socialization of the Fabulous Package ourselves.

The package will include:

  1. Removal of the governor on the thermostat. 65 degrees doesn’t cut it.
  2. A light blanket that is able to replace the artic quality duvet, so we do not spend our evening with 15 minutes under the blanket, 15 minutes with the blanket off, repeat until alarm goes off.
  3. For your premium members, you can offer a cleaning of pajamas that were perhaps soaked in sweat as a result of us coming into our prime.

This is a time in our lives that maybe we don’t discuss as much as we should, but I would definitely be more willing to stay at a property that had thought of all their customer needs. And write some reviews on your behalf.
