Social media is a great way for me to connect with INFORMS members from all over the globe. What started as my “tweeps” have now morphed into friends.
I manage the traditional social networks for INFORMS with HootSuite, including Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. The fall 2013 Association Media Report, compiled by Association Trends, ranked INFORMS in the “Highest Activity” category of associations with 10-100 staffers across Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
Additionally, I am currently crafting a social media policy for the organization, which will help to strengthen and grow the brand.
